The forest owlet of Melghat

On 16 November 2025, on a third safari in the Dhargad–Bori forest of Melghat Tiger Reserve, a forest guide asked the driver to stop. On a branch sat the forest owlet: a tiny, globally endangered bird found in only a handful of places in central India. The full account is a story about seeing truly, and about the forest staff who make such moments possible.
